NEWCOM# (Network of Excellence in Wireless Communications) is a project funded under the umbrella of the 7th Framework Program of the European Commission (FP7-ICT-318306). NEWCOM# pursues long-term, interdisciplinary research on the most advanced aspects of wireless communications like Finding the Ultimate Limits of Communication Networks, Opportunistic and Cooperative Communications, or Energy- and Bandwidth-Efficient Communications and Networking. Start date: Nov. 1, 2012. End date: Oct. 31, 2015.

After the meeting was held, EuWIn@UniBO organised a full day meeting in Bologna with the head of the Telecom Italia Future Center. Gian Paolo Balboni, and three researchers from Telecom Italia, attended the meeting from Telecom Italia side. During the meeting all activities of EuWIn@UniBo were reviewed. After the meeting, two actions were taken:
- establishment of a collaboration finalised to open a PhD position at UniBO fully funded for three years by Telecom Italia, for research to be performed in the context of Smart Cities; this activity has been successfully closed and a PhD position is now open, to start on Nov. 1st 2015;
- start of a discussion finalised to the possible duplication of the FLEXTOP testbed at the premises of Telecom Italia Future Centre in Venice; phone calls with the head of the Future Centre are planned for June/July 2015.
Cambridge, UK, 25-26 June 2015
The NEWCOM# emerging topics workshop will take place on the 25-26 June in Cambridge, UK at the Department of Engineering of the University of Cambridge.

If you want to know whom they are, come to the N# event in Paris 29 June - 2 July. They will be awarded there.
The final event of NEWCOM# will be held in Barcelona, Spain, from 14 to 15 October 2015. The meeting will be organized in conjunction with COST Action IC1004 to maximize cross-fertilization between these two communities.
The program will include plenary sessions, oral and poster sessions to disseminate joint research work, demos to showcase EUWIN results and, of course, a social program. All NEWCOM# researchers are invited to take part in this event. So, please, save the date and stay tuned!!!
The joint meeting Track 1-2 will be held in Greece, Athens, from 21st January to 23rd January 2015.
The meeting in Athens represents a fundamental step for the life of the NoE.
All researchers are invited to share and discuss the latest results achieved in the context of the Joint Research Activities.
The overall programme is based on tens of presentations given by all Newcom# institutions.
The programme also includes a panel workshop dedicated to the topic of the survivability of the Newcom# community after the end of the EC support.
This meeting is the last plenary one, before the final Newcom# event that will be organised by the end of the project (September/October 2015, dates and place tbd).
As it was in LIsbon, one year ago, it is expected that all institutions will participate with several researchers.
