French National Center for Scientific Research

The French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) is a public research organization that aims at producing knowledge and making it available to society. Of special importance for the Newcom++ project is the Information and Engineering Sciences department. CNRS was one the most active partner of the former NoE NEWCOM, and is strongly motivated in participating to the various Work-Packages of Newcom++.

Several universities or research centers are associated to CNRS in Newcom++ through various joint research units (UMR,
UPR or FRE) of the ST2I-CNRS Department, and have a strong expertise in the design of the physical layer of the next generations mobile communication systems:

  • Université de Rennes I (UMR 6074),

Researchers of prestigious French Engineering Schools that were active Partners of the former project NEWCOM, are also associated with CNRS through joint research units in the context of Newcom++:

  • Eurecom (FRE 2660),
  • Institut Telecom (UMR 5141), and
  • Ecole Supérieur d’Electricitè SUPELEC (UMR 8506).
