11 - LNT-TUM
The Institute for Communications Engineering (LNT), headed by Prof. Koetter, is part of the electrical engineering department of the Munich University of Technology (TUM). The academic staff of the Institute for Communications Engineering includes 4 Professors and about 15 research and teaching assistants. In addition, several guest Professors and part-time lecturer are involved.
The research is conducted in the area of applied information theory, source-, channel-, and network coding, coded modulation, multimedia transmission and mobile communication systems. The Institute for Communications Engineering benefits from numerous research cooperations with leading industrial partners. In the capacity of NEWCOM ++, LNT-TUM will be involved in iterative receivers for wireless communications, coding for multi-hop wireless networks (including network coding), relaying and cooperation in networks, and scheduling and adaptive radio
resource assignment.
