Partners description
The present Consortium of 17 partners has been chosen (down-selected) from a much larger pool of participants in the first NEWCOM:
NEWCOM++ also anticipates the contribution from many “affiliate” partners. This novel type of partner does not sign the Consortium Agreement, is not committed to any NEWCOM++ tasks, but is allowed (and invited) to participate to many NEWCOM++ activities; they have access to (at least part of) the documentation generated within the NoE, as they represent the first tier of institutions that are external to the consortium and can benefit from the consortium activities. Among affiliates, many institutions are expected to represent industry, and some of them already took active part in NEWCOM. This will provide significant industrial feedback that will prove most useful in the yearly revisions of the JPA.
As part of the previous NEWCOM’s outreach effort, we have collected the enthusiastic interest by many institutions for possible affiliation. An 'open' list will be developed formally by Newcom++ for the purposes of forming its affiliate layer. Moreover, this list will remain open for the whole duration of the project, so that the key academic and industrial players in wireless communication and their essential contributions will be included according to the emergence of needs, or opportunities.
