The main research objective for the Ph.D. student position is to assess the impact of channel uncertainty, imperfect synchronization, and transceiver impairments on the capacity of wireless networks. The analysis, which should be conducted by means of information theoretic tools, is expected to yield novel low-complexity protocols and coding schemes for real-world wireless networks.
