The Forschungszentrum Telekommunikation Wien (FTW) is a dynamic company with an international atmosphere that carries out strategic and application-oriented research in telecommunications. Our mission is to fill the gap between universities and industry, pursuing a challenging research program in collaboration with both academic and industrial partners.

Currently we are hiring for the following position:

Senior Researcher in Cooperative Communications

We are seeking a senior researcher with strong expertise on signal processing for cooperative wireless communication systems. Topics
include but are not limited to:

  • Channel models for electromagnetic wave propagation for mobile nodes
  • Transceiver architectures for distributed and cooperative systems
  • Performance bounds for cooperative transmission


Tasks:

  • Scientific collaboration within a national research network on signal and information processing in science and engineering
  • Development and analysis of innovative signal processing solutions for one or more of the above topics; publication of results in relevant scientific conferences and journals
  • Extension of the academic network of FTW regarding the above topics
  • Guidance of researchers and PhD candidates
  • Definition and coordination of research projects in collaboration with academic and industrial partners at FTW
  • Representation of the above field of expertise to our industrial partners



Qualification requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant field
  • Strong expertise in one or more subtopics in the area of wireless communications
  • Ability to combine theoretical reasoning with practical applications and experimentations
  • Ability to integrate in a multinational research team
  • Project management skills
  • Fluency in English, readiness to acquire German language skills
