Aalborg University
The researchers involved in the project NEWCOM++ are affiliated with the Department of Mathematical Science (MS) and two sections – Navigations & Communications (NavCom) and Networking & Security (NetSec) – among the eight sections of the Department of Electronic Systems (ES) at Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark.
The Section NavCom in the ES Department focuses its research and teaching activities in the fields of communication theory and coding, signal processing for communications, navigation, radar tracking, and aeronomy. The section hosts the Danish GPS Center (http://gps.aau.dk/). The Section NetSec in the same department develops network architectures, protocol solutions, and evaluation methodologies for future wireless and wired communication networks. Focus areas include: Mobility and QoS support in IP-based architectures, efficient medium access and routing in wireless multihop networks, context-sensitive networking with special attention to positioning information. The MS Department focuses its research activities in areas with a particular relevance to technical, computer science and physics applications based on fundamental, mathematical disciplines. The major research areas are applied probability, statistics, information and coding theory, topology and applied mathematical physics.
